Im african american & i want spiral curls in my hair but if i put rollers in it will they still be spiraled?

My mother says i might be able to have the spirals for one day if I use a hot curler, but when i put rollers in them at night, she thinks the curls wont be spiraled anymore. How should I tie my hair up at night? Or how can i make them spiraled w/o a hot curler or with just rollers?Im african american %26amp; i want spiral curls in my hair but if i put rollers in it will they still be spiraled?
I wear spiral curls daily. I roll up my hair nightly and sleep on them and I have spiral curls. Just roll up your hair vertically and remove the curlers and I just let them hang and they will loosen up and I have spiral curls. I never use hot curlers. Everyone says I wear my hair like Shirley Temple.Im african american %26amp; i want spiral curls in my hair but if i put rollers in it will they still be spiraled?
just rollers should work! the smaller the tighter though. my african american friend has doen it before and its worked out fine
Rolling with rollers should be fine as long as you make sure to wrap the hair from top to bottom on the rollers. I use plain old sponge rollers and I get some really cute curls with it.
use spiral rollers they are sold at beauty supply stores.........put them in when your hair is wet and then sit under a dryer....not sure if you can sleep in the rollers but if not just wear a bonnet (also at beauty supply) at night and use your fingers to fix them a little in the morning
Omg your hair might be different but my hair is SUPER curly when I put on rollers but you'll have to hairspray the curlers after you take them out...just roll them on and don't do anything then the next day take em off....hot curlers will ruin/damage/dehydrate your hair even though it's a quicker method.

  • How to curl defiantly straight hair and make it last?

My hair is so straight that even if I curl it all the way up until I look like sherley temple it will fall straight within a couple hours. I have given up on the idea of curling my hair because it is a waste of my time. I have hot rollers but I can't get the curls tight enough to stay in for long, they are okay. I have a curling iron and that only does so much because my hair falls out again anyway. i try to use a lot of hairspray but my hair looks like plastic and silly. I've tried pin curling with no luck. My aunt recently did my hair with a flat iron and it worked pretty good I'm seriously considering to use a flat iron to curl my hair but I need opinions from someone with the same problem. What is the best flat iron to use or a top 4 I don't wanna pay too much money for one but I reallly would like to solve my problem. How to curl defiantly straight hair and make it last?
Do what they did in the old days and use 'rags'. Just twist you hair with spare pieces of cloth before you go to bed and slip a hairnet or the end of the stocking on your head. In the morning your hair will be curlier than Shirley Temple. How to curl defiantly straight hair and make it last?
Use a flat iron to curl. Technique: put the end of your chosen piece of hair in the flat iron. Roll the hair around the iron tightly, hold for about 30 seconds and let the hair drop from the flat iron. This should give your curls some sexy volume and cute style that lasts all day without the use of product.
you could use a hot iron, but that's not too good for your hair. i use curlers myself but i apply mousse to my hair beforehand. i use garnier fructis mousse, called XXL Volume Thickening Mousse. it usually lasts a couple of days which is good.

    try it, good luck!
I have the same hair as you. I know how you feel. I would love wavy locks. I have some foam rollers and some rag rollers. If I wind my hair when it is almost dry in very small sections then sleep in them overnight my curls last until the next day with some loosening (unless it rains on me of course) It is a bit uncomfy to sleep in them and I would be wholly embarrased if the fire alarm went off but it works and it doesn't damage my hair like heated tools. The foam rollers will only set you back a couple of pounds and rag ones you can make yourself...I've found some links to show you how to make them.

    Happy curling

How do I use my hot rollers?

My husband bought me these expensive ceramic hot rollers that come with all different size rollers and tons of clips. I am clueless about how to use them. I have long straight hair that is to my waist and I haven't even tried to use these hot rollers yet because I know I will get frustrated. I am not very good at doing my hair, tis true. Will they burn me if I touch them? Like a curling iron would burn? I feel like an idiot. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks. How do I use my hot rollers?

How do i get amazing soft curls done with hot rollers to stay for hours?

okay so i just bought these conair hot rollers. they are pink and i love them although the clips are awful. so im going to buy those good white clips that look kinda like a comb. I straighten my hair everyday so its pretty straight but it can curl because it can hold curling iron curls. I did them this morning with the rollers and it looked perfect! but around an hour later they already began to fall out. i unwound them, hairsprayed them, brushed them, and then hairsprayed again.

    1. is there something im doing wrong?

    2. suggestions of any products?

    3. any tips or tricks to make my curls stay for HOURS looking amazing??!How do i get amazing soft curls done with hot rollers to stay for hours?
The best way to get your hairstyle to last all day is to wash hair

the night before (not in the morning before you go), because hair that is just washed does not hold curls for a long time. Hair that has been washed 12 hours ago looks wonderful and is easier to style than newly washed hair. Almost all beauty contestants use this trick, they never wash and style their hair the same day.

And when you wash it, condition it first and then shampoo it second.

This will give hair more body and will make it stay in the style longer.

Lastly, use a good hair spray (not one with alcohol in it...because it can damage/burn your hair) or use a little serum when you hot roll your hair. It will make your hair look amazing.

How can I repair my hair from damage done by trying to curl my hair too much?

I have a lot of long, thick hair that I've been trying to curl for a few weeks. It's naturally straight but has some body. I've tried scrunching it, using different curling irons, braiding, twisting, using a flat iron, you name it. Everything except hot rollers.

Every time i try to curl it, the hair falls straight within two hours, and that's with tonsss of products that i've spent a bunch of money on too.

I have not found a single working product yet at either a drug store or salon.

Now my hair's ends are dry, damaged and frizzy. What can i do to repair my hair? (I don't want my hair cut off). And what methods can I try in order to curl my hair once it's healthy again?

How to curl straight hair or give it light waves with a flat iron or bendable rollers?

    Hey

I was hoping you could tell me how to curl my hair at home, like before I got for a party or something. Light curls, nothing very flashy or anything. Probably just a few really nice waves (my hair's realllllllllly straight and I've always wondered how it'd look with a few waves).

    Something like this -

    http://www.tshirtwatch.com/blog/wp-conte鈥?/a>

I know this is a model but we can do this hair at home right?

I have bendable rollers - the kind which have a wire wrapped up with soft foamy material, hairdriers - both the round and long type, round vented brush, leave in conditioner, mousse and a hairspray but I'm not sure how to do it. I also have a flat-iron which doubles as a perming iron but I don't think that's help here right? I don't have any one to help me either, its just going to be me doing it however I can.

Suggestions will be very, very welcome! Please reply and I'll help you with your answers - I promise! Thank you!

P.S. The other hairdryer i have (the one other than the round one) is I think a hot stick. I don't really know for sure but its a straight rod-like hair dryer where heat comes from inside. So yeah. And the hairspray - its liquid and I don't want to use it. Thanks! How to curl straight hair or give it light waves with a flat iron or bendable rollers?
A few things to help you get 'beach waves' ...

Wrap your hair in small buns around your head when your hair is just damp. (Do not draw out partings)

When you wake up in the morning, do not comb or pick your hair, Just take the buns out and go.

Don't make the buns all to tight, take medium size peices of hair, and pin it with bobby pins...

That or look it up on your tube, they have videos online to offer more help....How to curl straight hair or give it light waves with a flat iron or bendable rollers?
Put a piece of your hair in your straightener like you are going to straightenit but wrap your hair around it and then turn the straightener once, slowly, and then slowly move it down like you are straightening it. That should give you light waves. That's what I normally do:)

    Help please?

    http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
you could either put your hair in the wire rollers while its still kinda damp

    and then blow dry it

    that might do it

orr use the straightener and twirl it as you go down the hair

or just use it as a curler kind of hold the hair in it and wind it up

    and thenhair sparay

or plaid your hair at night andlet it out in the morning :)

    hope these work for you
use a lot of hair jell and twist many sections of hair and clip each twisted section in a ball until dry.

    thats how it looks.

    how to use them:

wash hair, dry with towel as much as possible its ok to leave it damp. put anti frizz and anti heat serum in hair, and shine serum. comb through hair and add rollers. if you want your hair curlier, use thinner rollers and if you want your curls wavier or straghter, use larger ones; larger ones also provide more volume at the roots of your hair. i also suggest velcro rollers. you can also blow dry hair with rollers in it to speed up the curling but leave it in.

I want a new curling iron or set of hot rollers, and I need help achieving a look.?

I plan on buying a new curling iron. I want a curling iron that i can possibly feather or flip my hair with, and to have loose curls with. I honestly don't understand which barrel size to get. I do have a curling iron, but I'm unhappy with it and it gives me tight curls that I don't want.

Maybe if you guys know any better hot rollers than the ConAir Ion one thats blue, please let me know. I think I would really lilke to know a great set of hot rollers too.

How do I get hot roller curls easily everyday?

Can I get a specific type of perm that will give me this? I have extremely thick, coarse hair that seems to hold a heat induced curl quite well. I would like to be able to just wash my hair and have it dry into nice soft wavy curls with no hassle. Am I dreaming or is it possible? How do I get hot roller curls easily everyday?
You can get a perm with really big rods. I have done it on my clients and they love it. The only problem is that the larger the rod is the less time it will last....about a month and a half. You might be one of the lucky ones and it will last for a really long time. Regular perms last anywhere from 3 months till they get cut out, depends on the hair. How do I get hot roller curls easily everyday?
get a shampoo called wash and curl and your hair will be curled when you blow dry it
I wouldn't suggest a perm unless it's what you really want, but anytime you can avoid chemical's in your hair... +. When I want my hair curly, I found it easy to put my hair in a ponytail at the top of my head, then set the rollers. When I take it down I just hit it with a curling iron around the face. Fast and easy.

How do i get my hair to curl?

Okay so I have super straight hair. It reaches 2 inches past my shoulders and i have layers that start at the tips of my ears. My hair is also very thin, meaning i don't have any volume. I have a problem with getting it to curl because when I use hot rollers, it ends up being a hot mess. Basically i look like i stuck my finger in an outlet and when i use a curling iron, i can never get my curls to stay curly and they end up being lopsided and it's just a mess! So how do i curl my hair! HELP!How do i get my hair to curl?
ohhh. you have to be patient when your curling your hair because it takes a long time.

so its either you get your hair straightener (the thin ones), curling iron, or crimper. either of those will do.

then do it each for your hair.

Hot Sticks - How to Curl Your Hair With Them..?

I decided to try this old hot stick things that my sister had tucked away, and I looked them up and found a bunch of reviews and forum posta bout them but nobody actually says HOW to use them. If you don't know what they are- they're these pink and purple rubber stick-things with wire on the inside and you heat them up in their little box and then somehow rap your hair around them and.. attach them together..? I don't know. Are they just like regular rollers? Do you just rap your hair around them and wait?

I would suggest getting foam rollers if you can but if you need it for tomorrow you can make rag curlers! cut up an old t shirt into strips and then wrap strands of hair around the rags then twist and secure the rag near your head. that will create soft curls overnight and they are not uncomfy to sleep with. also sometimes i just put lost of ballerina (twisty) buns all over my head and bobby pin them close to my scalp. i would spray some hairspray while they hair is still went and then again in the morning! good luck! :)What's a way to curl hair without using a curling iron?
You can try it with a straightner

Go on you tube and look it up
    2 ways without heat.

1- wash your hair and towel dry it until its damp. when your ready seperate your hair into two sections the upper and lower section ( like you were creating a half ponytail ) take the upper half and brush it back like you were making a ponytail and grab the ends and twist your hair til its all one big twisted section and then wrap it into a bun and tie it with a elastic. do the same to the bottom section. in the morning take out the buns and seperate the hair into small section of curls.

2 - when your hair is damp take sections of your hair .. spray it with hair spray and make a O shape with your hair by rolling your hair up and securing it with a bobbypin. do this wil all your hair and in the morning take it out.
you can use hair straightener too to curl your hair. just try to form curl using the iron
take a shower at night and while it's still a little damp wrap it in a loose bun (or 2 on each side) and by the morning it should be wavy like that.
    Those look more like waves

    so I would say use

the Sunsilk Waves of Envy line.

You put it in wet hair and twist your hair

in sections. Let it air dry without

    touching it too much.

    Good Luck
    it's super easy!!

put a little bit of mousse in your hair and part it into 4 parts you have to twist your hair into small buns...the tighter the curlier your hair will turn out. sleep with them overnight and you should get the look you want =D

    hope that helped
    you could use a straightener

if that doesn't work that there is something called paper bag curls

if you don't make the curls 2 tight and more loose

you could end up getting your hair to look like that

    here's a tutorial

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoZ2QGq0n鈥?/a>
do it with a straightner, it looks beautiful.

Take a section of hair, and clamp straitner down on about two inches from root of hair, wrap the hair around straightner and rotate circle around in a circle and start bringing it down, make sure you do it fast though. Also, if the curl doesnt turn out right, try twisting it around to make the curl look prettier. the curl from the straightner most likely won't look right at first, twist it around a little until you find the right curl.

If you want a video tutorial, try searching it on youtube. i think it's fast and effective.

    Thanks.

Hi there! Okay, I know a girl who has very straight hair and to get it curly like those pictures she puts product in her hair that is made to enhance or create curls when she comes out of the shower and her hair is totally wet. But if you want your hair to be like the picture then only put a little bit in your hair half way down because their hair was curled with a curing iron very loosely. In fact that doesn't take Although of time at all. Just loosely put the curling iron around strands in your hair around the bottom of your head. Use a large curling iron btw. Hope I helped! :)
yeahh i dont have a curling iron so when i feel like straightening my hair i use my straightener cuz i only have that. the wire gets all tangled but other than that it works really well! and i never straighten or curl my hair to leave them overnight, cuz when i wake up its all ruined. idk about u but i have bedhead lol. well, you should try it hope it works!!!

P.S. it also kinda depends on ur straightener too... flat irons work best!
You can't get the second look without using a hairdryer and a large round brush. That is a blowout. The first look you could get by wetting the hair about 3 inches from the scalp to the tips. Section off hair in 2 by 2 inch pieces. Twist the section until it looks like a strand of rope, and continue twisting until it rolls up on itself or you can roll into a pinwheel shape. Secure it to your scalp with a bobby pin. In the morning, take out the pins, and ';comb'; through with just your fingers.
I think that you should get more rollers but heated rollers. I'm gonna get that.

In this case you're probably going to need to use hot rollers. After applying the hot rollers to your entire head and allowing them to set, lightly brush the resulting curls and spray with hair spray to hold. You can also use standard hair rollers on damp hair or fashion your hair into pin curls using bobby pins and sit under a hair dryer until the hair is dry. Use hair spray to hold your new curls.
    Rollers.

For the really nice looking, modern pretty styles that you see around now, wet set your hair using either velcro or the plastic type of rollers. You can also style your hair in different ways, plus its better for your hair and the curls hold better and last a long time. This yahoo groups has tons of pictures of the latest styles without the spam and links to go through. It takes some patience because there are so many pictures. It might be of help.

well if u want that like messy look, i would just make a tight bun after the shower and go to bed with it.

if u want like nice looking curls u should take a curl iron and in the front just start from like midway and go down.. then in the back same thing i guess, but dont like untangle ur curls too much.. use anti friz smoothing milk, or simple hairspray.. both will get best results

How should I get my hair cut?

I'm looking at getting my hair cut tomorrow, and I would like some suggestions. I will be recoloring my hair to a similar color (though not exactly the same) to what I have now. I do not mind loosing some length, but I do want to keep it somewhat long. My hair has gotten a bit thicker over the past few years and if it is not maintained it tangles very easily. However, I do want to grow out my hair for Locks of Love some day. Plus, I feel if my hair is too short it makes my face look too fat.

My hair is straight, though it can have a slight wave at times. I occasionally curl my hair with hot rollers, though I usually don't have the time or patience.

add hairspray before you use them and maybe extend the amount of time you have them in your hair. Also when the rollers cool down in your hair get a hair dryer and go around your hair once or twice you should have better curls this way. to make the more defined make sure you spray hair spray after as well and use your fingers to wrap the pieces of curls onto your finger and hold it for 5 seconds and let go.

    hope it helped! :)

How can I keep my natural curl?

I have long, naturally curly hair. As soon as I brush it, it goes *poof*! Anyway, I use bio-silk after a shower while my hair is still damp. If I don't touch my hair, my hair will dry into their soft curls. The problem, however, is that my curls turn frizzy! So I have to straighten my hair, and then curl my hair again with hot rollers. 3 Hair questions? (Why does it ';Bend';, why wont it curl, and deep conditioning)?

Ok, so I have 3 questions about my hair. But you should probably know a little bit about my hair first.

Ok. So when I was 2, my hair was completely curly. the my mom cut it, it went completely straight. Now, even if it blow it out, I get like its straight against my hair until about my ears, then it like bends out or like poofs out, and goes straight again like an inch lower. Also, I have real problems curling it. Lastly, I want to deep condition it, but its kinda greasy (or ';shiny'; if your my mom...) so I want to know a couple things about that. Ok my questions are:

    1. Why does my hair do that bending thingy? How can i get rid of it? (oh btw I have curling iron, but my mom wont buy me a flat iron, because she thinks my hair is ';too straight anyway';)

    2. Why won't my hair curl? What would be the best thing to curl it with? (ex: Curling iron (what diameter?) Hot rollers, or those squishy ones you sleep in. (I have a curling iron (1 1/2 in) and hot rollers, but where could i get the squishy ones you sleep in?) Also, are there any products that would help it curl? (I can't curl it when its wet, it poofs out and looks really gross)

    3. What kind of conditioner should i use to deep condition? (Currently i have head and shoulders, the green one) How often should I deep condition it? (Oh btw im a preteen)

Kay, Thanks In Advance, and thanks 4 taking the time to read this. :)

    Love Ya!

Katee =)3 Hair questions? (Why does it ';Bend';, why wont it curl, and deep conditioning)?
Yeah I used to have unmanagable hair, but then I learned the trick to managing it-time each morning

Shiny hair is beautiful! You don't want dull dead looking hair! But if it really is oily then shower more often! Shower an hour before you go to bed, any earlier and your hair will be real greasy in the morning.

    1) Because thats the way your hair folicles work. Curl your hair from bottom to top- all the way to the top and hold it there and count to 10 if its real difficult.

    2) because your heat settings aren't high enough and your not holding the curling iron on it for a long enough time. Maybe the pieces of hair you're trying to curl are too big. Take 1/4 inch sections of hair and try it, you'll get perfect curls everytime. Turn your heat settings up to the maximum. Get a small curling iron (1/2 inch or less). I used to have the same curling iron as you and I had the same problem- that curling iron gives you waves, not curls so thats your issue.

    3) Use pantene time renewel conditioner- its made for real damaged hair but it works wonders on all hair types!3 Hair questions? (Why does it ';Bend';, why wont it curl, and deep conditioning)?
    ..
It's hard to say. You may have over processed, which may effect the way it's curling. Everyone's hair is different, and there really is no way of knowing why someone else's hair does what it does. The best thing to use for hard to curl hair are hot rollers w/ that steam. The best time to use them is when you've just washed and dried your hair (air dried or blowdry -- after washing, your hair still obtains some moisture).

Pre-treat your hair with some heat-activated hair product (The brand Beyond the Zone is a good choice, I use this: http://www.beyondthezone.com/turn_up_the_heat.aspx You can find it at Wal-Mart or anyother beauty supply or drug store. Best thing, it won't hurt your pocketbook). Put the hot rollers in, and let them SET until they are COMPLETELY cool.

Once cool, remove them out slowly, and let the curl sit. Finger combing is best after this, but you can touch up with your curling iron and comb just to fine tune. Over conditioning can also result in weighted down, unruly hair, so beware of this as well.

Trial and error, that's all it is. Over-processing with a flatiron will absolutely take the life out of your hair....so your mom is wise at this point. Once you start using a good flat iron, it'll be really tough to ever curl your hair again. They're really damaging....I know. :D

    Good luck.

PS: Keep your conditioner AWAY from your roots...let it set on your ends only. Heavy conditioning can really weigh your hair down, and give you a greasy look.
hi, yeah i'll try to answer :)

erm i'm not sure about the first two, but whatever conditioner you are using, try putting it onto dry hair every couple of weeks and then sleep with it in your hair, and rinse it out in the morning :)

put a towel over your pillow so it doesn't ruin anything xxxxxxxxx

Can African American women use hot rollers?

My hairdresser fusses with me everytime I see her because I blow dry my hair and curl it with a curling iron every morning. She says its breaking my hair off. I have shoulder length hair but want more length. My head sweats at night so I have to straighten it out and recurl my hair. She suggested that I roll my hair but in order to do that I have to have my hair strightened with the blow dryer. I thought hot rollers may be another thing to use but I don't know anything about them. looking for advise on how to use, are they damaging to African American hair, and a suggestion for a brand. Can African American women use hot rollers?
In time this to will cause damage but it what is called mechnical. if you have a sally's beauty store near you they sell this awesome set that has an assortment of sizes but it does cost alot around 70 near me, you can get a sally's card which gives you a discount but im not sure how much, but its a great place to pick stuff up. have you thought about just getting a wet set on your hair? its what usually elderly woman get but those can give you curls for days with only a touch up here and there that you could do withyour curling iron. Do you have a relaxer in your hair? if not i would get one-would help with the time and energy plus save your arms from falling asleep while you are blowdrying and rolling....Can African American women use hot rollers?
I recently purchased hot rollers at sally's beauty supply and i believe that its probably more healthy for african american hair because u r using rollers as opposed to a curling iron. The hot rollers don't damage my hair nearly as much as my curling iron.

    Hi,

You'll probably find that rollers will do less damage in the long term than the straighteners.

If you could find a way not to have to straighten it every day, but only when you wash it, that might be a better option.

Either way, make sure you use some good products to help protect your hair from the heat.
Hot rollers can be used by African American women and they don't do as much damage as curling irons.
No. But black women can. I know several that have.
Yes and caruso is a very good brand and they are not damaging to the hair. Steam is used and you roll the hair as you would a roller set.
    sure, why not

Only problem, is I am completely unept with curling irons. Spiral curling irons, rollers, and those hot rollers are options. PLEASE HELP!How to curl my hair like this? (with pic)?
It depends on the type of hair you have but I'm going to trust your hair is naturally wavy like mine so:

    1. Put a smoothing cream on your hair while it is damp.

    2. Let your hair air dry (but don't lay down on it or anything while it is air-drying) let it air dry so it is naturally calm and the heat damage is at a minimum.

    3. When your hair is dry, take a 1-inch barrel curling iron and curl your entire head in three sections: bottom layer of hair, middle layer of hair, and top layer. Hold the curling iron vertically and take small sections of hair and wrap them around the iron and clamp down. If your hair doesn't hold the curls well, spray your hair with hairspray WHILE the hair is in the curling iron. In the picture, the girl's hair is straight at the top and doesn't start curling until about 1/4 of the way down, so don't be afraid to start your curls at the same place. And don't be afraid to experiment with your curls either.

    4. Run your fingers through your curls to separate them and smooth out your hair.

    5. The girl in the picture has straight bangs, so don't be afraid to use the curling iron to straighten your own bangs.

    6. Finish off by setting your hair with hair spray.

I hope this works! It really depends on the type of hair you have and how thick it is and how well it holds curl! Good luck! How to curl my hair like this? (with pic)?
one of those curling irons that have a twisty piece on it, so it makes it wavy
Rollers huh. Use setting lotion first and then go for the kill.
apply mousse or wax spray, twirl around with fingers , loosely wind sections and pin with bobby pins. let set or blow dry on warm low setting, let cool. take out pins loosen with fingers, spray with finishing spray.
You need a large barrel curling iron. Hold the iron straight up (vertically) and wind the hair around the barrel, leave closed for a fewextra seconds then normal, and carefully pull the iron out of curl. Spray with hairspray and loosen with your fingers.

The smaller the sections of hair , the more defined the curls. The larger the section of hair, the more chunkier. messier the look.

I know you said your no good with curling irons, but with longer hair you're really not going to get the same look with with hot rollers.
So you feel curling irons arn;'t your thing you will have to learn to practice then specially if you want curls you can't always get the same effect with rollers. but if you use rollers use semi to medium size for this hair turning the curls as you roll into the rollers put them on your head as if they were pointing north and south instead of east and west.

Or bigger barrel curling iron and twist it around the barrel hold and let loose slowly twisting your hand as you move the barrel slowly out of the curls let the curls cool down then you will want to finger the curls slowly twisting them around your finger a bit to keep the spiral effect and loosely seperate as your unraveling again doing this only with your fingers then sprits where you want it to hold

How to curl my long straight hair?

I am in a wedding next month and I want my hair in long curls. I have had many people try many different ways to get this look on me. My hair is waist length and bone straight. I've used curling irons, hot rollers, even had a black woman use her products and it didn't stay in. I don't understand but I really want this look.

My mom said her mother used to rip up a sheet and wrap it up wet and let it dry and somehow that would make curls stay for her but she doesn't remember the method exactly. She has the same hair as me so I'm thinking if it worked for her it would for me! Is anyone familiar with this? How to curl my long straight hair?
an advice for you my in my uncel wedding his wife used to curl her long hair and it looked so bad the best for a bride is a straight nice hair and i watched lots of wedding i think the curly hair is an old style now the best modern style for a bride is the straight hair with a small hair move on the top.

What can I do to get my curls to hold after I use hot rollers?

I'm thrilled to have learned how to properly use hot rollers on my hair and absolutely love the look. However, every time I use them my hair is always flat with no sign that I even curled my hair by the time I reach work (about 15 minutes). I don't know if its the humidity or what but it never fails. My hair ALWAYS goes flat. I usually put mouse, leave in conditioner and straightening balm in my hair before I blow dry. I let my hot rollers heat up for at least 30 minutes then I put my hot rollers in my hair, spray with hair spray and leave on for around 20 minutes. Then I take them out, style them and spray with hair spray again. BTW, I use aerosol hairspray. Are there any products or tricks I can use to get my curls to hold all day long? I'm desperate here! What can I do to get my curls to hold after I use hot rollers?

Can I create sexy waves with hot rollers?

I have straight hair and I would like to create those lucious sexy waves that we're seeing so much of in the magazines, I wanted to know if I can do that with hot rollers because I'm terrible at working with a curling iron on my own hair. If so, how do I prep my hair to hold the wave/curl? What type of products are best? Can I create sexy waves with hot rollers?
spritz each section of hair with hairspry .put rollers in. then use the low cool setting on your dryer to go over the rollers. this helps them ';set'; and hold the curl. the cold will also hold shine.let the rollers set about 10 minsCan I create sexy waves with hot rollers?
try it and i'll tell you if you look sexy. =D
Seperate your hair into 3 layer, top, middle and bottom.

Start with the bottom layer ( while you have the other two layer up) use only the smallest rollers and put them in horizantle (up down ways),do this with each layer. when you are done just spray evenly with a flexible hairspray, and your good to go!
    sure
After washing hair apply a generous amount of light to medium hold gel or moose (Kenra is my suggestion) along with a small amount of serum. Blow dry upside down. Depending on the size of the wave that you want place 3 hot rollers on top of head rolling back. Make sure parting are cripes. First roller should be in bang area and last roller should be at crown. Place 3 rollers on right side rolling down, first roller should be at temple last roller should be above ear. Repeat on left side. In the slip hair in two seciton, left and right. Place 2-3 rollers on right side rolling down, repeat on left side. Wait to cool for about 10 mins. When cool unroll rollers, do not comb through until all rollers are out. You can part on left or right side and finger comb curls. If you want a looser wave you can use a brush and brush smooth. I suggest applying alittle more serum to hair and finishing with hairspray and shine spray. Let me know how it turns out.

    Products I suggest:

    Kenra gel or moose

    Kenra Shine Serum

    Kenra Hairspray

    Kenra Silkening Mist

I do not use hot rollers for my Sprial curls. I wet set my hair and I add Lotta Body Setting Lotion and I roll up my hair nightly. I only add Setting Lotion every other week, but I roll up my hair nightly. I place the rollers side ways, and I use 40 rollers. I've been doing this for almost two years now, tjen on weekends I comb out the curls and I have loose bouncy curls.

How do I keep my curls intact ALL day?

    I USE HOT ROLLERS.

first i put mousse in my hair and then i curl my hair with hot rollers. I leave them in for about 7 min. when i take them out i put a little more mousse in my hair (not too much to weigh it down though) . The curls look reallly really good...but by the end of the day they become frizzy, seperated, and loose. I hate using hairspray because it really makes the texture of the curl look bad. How to use hot rollers?

I am going to be in a wedding and want to have a full head of soft curls. I have used a curling iron before but the curl would fall with in an hour or so. One of my friends said that her mom uses hot rollers and her hair stays curled the whole day. I went and bought some hot rollers a couple of days ago and need some help on how to achieve that look with out my hair looking dry and frizzy or look like a big afro. Can any one help. I need to know from step A to Z on how to do this. ThanksHow to use hot rollers?
All you do is the same thing. also the curls will depend on how big the hot rollers are.just split your hair into sections depending on how many rollers you have. then apply the rollers. leave them on for however long you want i guess.once you take the rollers off. leave your hair alone. your hair is obviously going to be warm so let it cool. once its cool run your fingers through it. dont brush it. just with your fingers lightly. your curls will stay. then apply hairspray from a distance so you dont get your hair all sticky and nasty. and there you go. thats all you have to do. try it before the actual day so you can see if you like it. =]How to use hot rollers?
twist every strand of your hair in the hot rollers when they are heated

leave them in for at least 30 minutes

    then just take them out

    flip your hair

put some hair spray on then maybe some hair product

    and tada!

    fresh head of curls(:

How can I get my hair to hold a curl?

I have hair that is not super fine, but not super coarse. It's not straight, but it's not curly either. Along those lines, it's not super frizzy, but it's not sleek either.

So, with that being said, how can I get my hair to hold a curl?

Two things I have tried are:

-A hot iron and various hairsprays/curl holders.

-Rollers at night and overnight... weird wacked out curls that are too tight.

I also don't want to do anything for professional purposes... this is just for the every day club scene. How can I get my hair to hold a curl?
If your hair is not super straight is should not have problems holding a curl! Try using Redken spray starch or hot sets. These are both pump sprays you use on dry hair. You can spray the hair before or while heat is being applied. Spray starch works awesome, if hair is super resistant try the Redken Hot Sets. Finish with fingering thru with a shine spray. Spray the product on your hands %26amp; rub together. Then gently finger into hair breaking up some of the curl to give a more natural appearance! Of course finish with hairspray! How can I get my hair to hold a curl?
Try a hair curling tong, you make them tight or loose curls
Well, I have a goood home solution.Roll your hair up over a pencil.Wait for one minute.Or more. If doesent work , then add a paper. To the pencil
it seems to me like you have tried a lot.

there is not much more you can do except play around with different ideas... find out what works best...

some peoples hair wont hold a curl...its unfortunate but common....

If you want you can get a body perm...

this wont make your hair extremely curly but it would give it enough support to hold a curl with just regular styling.

    GOOD LUCK
The best advice I can give you is:

    A. Try more curling products, including a curling shampoo and conditioner, plus mousse and a curling spray.

    B. If a Curling Iron isn't working, try hot rollers. :)

    C. If you do overnight what you can do is put them in when your hair isn't as wet so they won't be so tight. Also in the morning run your fingers through your hair to loosen them.

Good luck! Hope one of these helps :)
use vitress hair polish,it enhances your curls

My hair is too thick to curl?

Okay, so when I try to curl my hair with either a thin or think curling iron or hot rollers, IT NEVER WORKS. I mean, it sort of works, but even as soon as I finish, it looks like it has been curled 12 hours ago and barely has any curl left.

My hair is extremly thick and coarse. One strand of my hair is equal to like, two and a half strands of a normals person's hair. Not even exagerating.

If I want it to last maybe an hour, I have to douse it with hairspray, but then it gets super hard and all you can smell on me is hairspray. And it NEVER lasts any longer than that.

I don't have any previous product in before I curl, and my hair is clean and dry.

I got you on this one.

My hair is extremeeely thick, and it never, and i mean never curls.

But ive finally found a solution(:

Ok first, make sure your hairs completely dry, and put a tiny bit of conditioning cream

in it to make it nice and silky. then curl it using a straightner. If you dont know how,

use this video ---%26gt; to show you the direction to twist the straightner. its alot easier than

it looks, i promise. after each strand is curled, put a little dab of paste in it.

    ( i use http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/21zyI3wLm3L._SL500_AA200_.jpg )

then take that curl, scrunch it up again, spray it with one pump.

    ( i use http://www.beautyofnewyork.com/upload/sprunch-sp-pump-12.jpg )

and then let it go. finish your whole head ( i usually do mine in 2 layers )

and then spray it lightly with hairspray. Since you only use a tiny bit of each product,

your curls will look natural and flowing.

I know it sounds long and complicated, but i promise it works.

And for me, its the only thing that works.

(: i hope i helped. My hair is too thick to curl?
    * Wash your hair thoroughly, to remove the prospective resistance to curls, like dirt, oil or styling products that you had applied on your hair. Apply conditioner over it, to make it easy to handle.

    * Make sure your hair is completely dry, before you start curling it, as wet hair does not hold curls for long. If you are getting late for the party, blow dry them, but don鈥檛 overdo it.

    * Comb your hair thoroughly, so that frizzes don鈥檛 hinder the curling procedure.

    * Take a thin barreled curling iron for curling your hair. Employ the one with settings up to 25, as it is required for curling thick hair.

    * Heat the curling iron till it completely heats up and becomes appropriate for curling.

    * Brush your hair thoroughly, so that it becomes free from tangles and snarls.

    * Now, take thin sections of hair, at a time, to curl. Roll the first section of hair with the help of curling iron and hold it for 35 seconds. This will produce a nice ringlet in your hair.

    * Like this, repeat the procedure with all the other sections around your head. This way, your hair will have nice curls in 10 minutes.

    * In case you wish to keep the curls for a longer time, apply a spray gel or mousse, while towel drying your hair.

Haha sounds like your describing my hair.

I started using tresemme's new line of thermal creations products.

The curl activator spray really seems to be working for me.

I spray the strand (usually I part my hair down the middle and then group it in small sections), and then curl it, wait about 30 seconds and to-dah :]

It takes a while because I have a lot of hair, but it turns out really cute. Here's the tresemme spray I mentioned, it's also available in Giant (the food store) and pretty much everywhere!

Sad to say, we always want our hair to be the opposite of what it is! My advice is to work with your hair the way it is. Find a very good haircutter--you'll need one if you have thick straight hair! Find out what your hair likes to do and go with it. You probably will never be able to get your hair to scrunch up curly!

But take comfort in the fact that those of us with fine, wavy hair wish ours were like yours! My hair is VERY thick and layered, how can i make it curly??? whenever i try 2 curl it never works.....?
if it dosn't hold then it wasn't made for your hair type...
Air dry or dry with a diffuser and never comb or brush it. Just condition well and run your fingers through it and you'll have less frizzy or flyaways.
    try to use theramsilk gel
Thats easy just get a specail shampoo and get a curling iron

How can I get my hair to curl nicely and actually STAY curled?

I have kinda thick, very straight hair. Whenever I curl it with a curler it staightens out within minutes, even if i use tons of hairspray. I also tried using hot rollers. They only curl my hair for about 10 minutes, then it straightens out again. The only way I can get it to stay curly is to put it in rollers (not the hot ones) while it's wet and let it dry overnight, but it's uncomfortable while I'm sleeping. Does anyone have any suggestions or techniques that work for them? Or products that make straight hair curlier? Thanks. How can I get my hair to curl nicely and actually STAY curled?
I have similar hair to yours, and I found that many hot irons and hot rollers available in regular stores simply are hot enough to get our kind of hair to hold a curl. I think the Conair one I had heated only to 360 degrees. Professional tools get hotter, like the Babyliss curling iron I got, which heats to like 460 degrees. You can get this one at Folica.com. The curls that stay longest have been from a GHD styler. It's looks like a straightener but has wider plates, and comes with instructions on how to do waves, curls and more. I am still trying to better at using this, but when someone who knows how to do it uses it, the curls last until your next shampoo! i have the EXACT problem as you do. ok here is what i do-

    1. take a shower and blow dry your hair

    2. spray hair with hairspray, i prefer ';aqua net'; available at any drugstore

    3. get your curling iron and curl your hair, spritzing with hairspray after every curl

    4. after you are finished spray all over your head for maximum hold

i know it seems like a lot of hairspray, but it really isnt. plus, aqua net spray make your locks feel like they dont even have hairspray in it, and it holds very well!

    happy curling
Okay, curl your hair like you normally do, (make sure to use heat protection spray!!) and then put in Tresseme curl enhancer. I got it at Fred Meyer for $5! It works sooo well. My hair is the same as yours, it never stays. But this works. When you spray it, it pulls your hair together and gets rid of fly-aways AND it stays all day!

    Good luck!
instead of sleeping on your curlers put them in when your hair is wet and take out your blow dryer and dry them with the rollers still in. It takes a while but always works for me.

How can I achieve manageable hair?

Currently my hair always very frizzy. It gets a little better the day after a shower, but it is still pretty bad.

Whenever I try to curl my hair with a very good curling iron or hot rollers, it never works right at all.

To put it simply, my hair doesn't style well and it is very frustrating.

Can someone give me tips to style-able, non-frizzy hair? How can I achieve manageable hair?
either buy frizz-eaze (it comes in either a small clear squirt bottle or a purple one). you can buy it pretty much any store where they have alot of hair products. also, the garnier fructese sleek and shine serum works really well too. that also comes in a squirt bottle, and you can usually get it at a cvs or drug store or somthing. try one of those and it should help alot. How can I achieve manageable hair?
um u could try a milk conditioning thing where you spray milk thoroughly in your hair leave it on for half an hour to an hour and then shampoo as usual or biosilk works really good its a shine serum but works for frizz too but there are lots of other things you can try like hot oil treatment (heat baby oil, almond oil, or any vegetable oil and put it on your hair) egg also works really good (crack one egg into a boil mix it and add milk and a little oil put on hair and leave for half an hour to an hour and then shampoo works very well

    HOPE I HELPED!!!!! :]
    deep condition ur hair weekly

and put an anti-frizz serum before styling ur hair

What do you think is the best and easiest way to curl your hair?

I was considering getting a perm because I am bored with having my hair straight all of the time. However, I decided against that idea because many people have told me how damaging a perm is to your hair. Anyway, I am not very good at styling my hair. I was wondering what do you think is the best and easiest way to curl your hair? For example, do you think that using a curling iron or hot rollers are better? I recently read about hot sticks which people have said are easy to use but I am not sure what type of curls the hot sticks are for. What do you think is the best and easiest way to curl your hair?
Heat can be very damaging to your hair. Try washing your hair at night and put it in pin curls while it is still semi-wet. Take out the pin curls when you wake up in the morning.

How can i get my super straight hair to keep curl?

i curl it with a curling iron and with hot rollers.it looks really good for about 10 min.i use hairspray and gel. nothing worksHow can i get my super straight hair to keep curl?
Do you hairspray it as you curl? like spray the section you are using then curl with curling iron ?? if not try that that's what i do 'cause my hair is super straight tooHow can i get my super straight hair to keep curl?
Maybe a gentle body perm would help.
Instead of Gel, try a little dab of Super Glue. It will hold for weeks and weeks.
uze curlers %26amp; then uze gel or hair spray.
Really strong hairspray and gel, a perm would also work
Get a perm. I think you would like it. I got one when my hair didn't do so well with curls, and i wanted a new look. Don't go way curly, just a little bit will do.
My daughter spends hundreds to get your hair type %26amp; you want hers. Be happy with what you have, get a cut %26amp; style that works with your hair type.
a perm will help, just get one for body...u can still style it straight, but will have more ';body'; then too!
Yea, your best bet is to get a perm, but not a crazy old lady perm, but something that will look good and work with your hair type
Dont perm your hair. Perm damages your hair. Try putting on some mousse on wet hair and just scrunch your hair with your hand while blow drying your hair. It looks really good.
    My little sister uses herbal essences extra hold gel. She does gymnastics, and it has the power to withstand the sweat of puberty!! lol. If you can't find that (in bath%26amp;body works, i think) try anything that says ';extra hold.';

How can i curl my hair with a straightner?

straightner is for straining. thats why is called a straightner. u want to curl your hair? then go buy yourself a curlerHow can i curl my hair with a straightner?
u can麓t curl ur hair with a straightner...u need a curl thing to do that sorry
it's kinda hard to explain, but you curl it the same way as you would with a curler.

put the hair b/w the plates and twirl it, hold for a second then release.
    for one its a straightener

    its supposed to straighten

but it also depends on the type u have

some r flat and u cant do anything with

now some r rounded like mine

first put it on a lower setting so it doesnt fry ur hair

instead of pulling straight down twist it while going through ur hair it will give a big curl unless u can rlly twist it fast!

    good luck
i curl my hair with a straitener every day, heres a flic to show you how it comes out!

    How to curl your hair?

my husband gave me some hot rollers for christmas. i had asked him for some only because im tired of having it straight all the time and i dont like picking it up. i wanna start curling it now, and i get very unpatient with the curling iron. would the hot rollers work? and what is the best way to use them for really good results. How to curl your hair?
I bought one many moons ago, and it is sitting in my drawer, with hardly use to it.

I was happier using plastic curlers on my hair (same thing they use backstage during Victoria Secret Fashion show, and any other hair shows). There are other new plastic curlers out there now using clips instead of hair pins.

Good luck with yours, let us know how you like your new tool. How to curl your hair?
yes they will. Put them in, and spray once they are all in. Try putting them in neatly or they'll be wicked hard to get out.

  • How can i get loose curls with my hot rollers?

i have the remington hot rollers some of them are big and some are small and my hair is naturally straight and i have used them before but they were tight curls and i want loose ones and my hair is down to the top of my breasts and i really want loose curls. How can i get loose curls with my hot rollers?
for a lose curl with hot rollers use the bigger ones they will give the loosest curls.so here what you do

1.start with like day old hair(it hasn't been washed for a day)

2.brush you hair out and section the hair from the top of you ears put all that hair up

put some kind of heat protectant on the hair that's down.

3.then roll the curlers vertical for more of a spiral curl (i would suggest away from your face)

repeat till your head is coverd with curlers

4.then let the curlers in for 15-20 mins but before you take them out you may want to take a blow dryer a cool setting and go over your head before taking them out

5.them gently take out the curlers

    6. before putting in the hair spray run your fingers through your hair to loosen and separate curls

    7. put hair spray in and once its dry run you fingers through again

IF: you want your curls still looser just mist them lightly with water like barely any and lightly pull down on the curl

hope this helpsHow can i get loose curls with my hot rollers?
Part it, then use large hot rollers to curl the bottom half of the hair, rolling the curlers in towards the face. After letting rollers set for ten minutes, remove them and let hair sit for a minute. Then gently run your fingers through to break up the curls a bit.

How to put curlers in your hair?

I want to curl my hair with curlers. Can someone show me howHow to put curlers in your hair?
put the roller (preferably the ones a bit like velcro) at the bottom of your hair then role it up. this is much easier when your hair is damp and will ahve a better result. do this to all the bits you want to curl then leave them to dry. you can do this naturally or use a hair dryer.

How do I curl my hair with a curling iron?

I need help curling my hair using a curling iron. My hair is chin length with some layers and I have a big curling iron. The barrel is gold is that matters. I also have a really tiny pinky sized one. My problem is I never have been able to use one on myself. Anytime I try to curl my hair with one it just leaves a big nasty, noticable crease in my hair instead of curling it. I've tried duing it millions of times and all I get it a crease! I sometimes use a hot brush or a flat iron to curl but, those just don't do as good of a job as when someone curls it with a regular curling iron. Hot rollers work too but, I want to know how to use a curling iron properly. What am I doing wrong here??? HELP!How do I curl my hair with a curling iron?
What sizes are the curling iron? I'm guessing the small one is 1/2 inch and the big one is 1 1/2 inch? for your legnth of hair, you'll need a 3/4 inch or 1 inch, because the 1/2 inch will give you a poofball for hair, while the 1 1/2 inch will give you a bump instead of a curl.

There are many techniques to curl your hair, but heres how i do it:

apply 2-3 palmfuls of mousse to your hair, then blowdry your hair, then grab 1 inch sections of hair and run the curling iron halfway down the section of hair, roll up to the roots, push lightly on the clamp and run the iron down so that the ends are covered by the clamp, then roll up again. This will give you a more bouncy, even curl.

If you just want to curl the bottom, the run the iron all the way down to the ends of your hair, roll up, hold until the outer layer of hair is warm, let go and repeat.

good luck! How do I curl my hair with a curling iron?
Run your all your hair with the curling iron. not just the ends. start from the top and go down like a flat iron. do it about three times. on the third time when you get to the end bend in the way of the iron most likely the outside and twist the iron so you can curl. if you dont want to curl and just flip. do the same thing. run the iron through your hair and just twist a little at the end and thats it.you got it.

Small hot rollers in long hair? what will the result look like?

I already have hot rollers (huge ones...) but last time I went to the salon the hairstylist practically ruined my hair and now it is sooo layered that I can't use the rollers any more, and I can't curl it with a straightening iron any more either, because of the layering...so I'm thinking about getting some small ones from Remington (they're the only ones available here where I live...), but I don't want to look beauty pageanty or 80s....any ideas on how the result will look? I have incredibly straight hair, if that makes any difference...Small hot rollers in long hair? what will the result look like?
It may come out somewhat poodle-ish. I would use a small flat iron or small barrel curling iron instead, and wrap it from the top down, leaving the bottom out/straight, and doing in fairly large sections if possible. That will give more of a ';beachy'; look and will be a little more in-style than hot roller small curls.Small hot rollers in long hair? what will the result look like?
my hair is alot like yours, its really long and layered and when i put small hot rollers in it looks terrible!! BUT, if i sleep in it like that, by the morning it actually looks kinda cool and natural.

How to make curls stay in my pin straight hair?

I have very straight, long hair. When i curl it with a curling iron, hot roller or anything it falls flat within 10 mins. you would never be able to tell it had a curl in it. my hair is layered and it comes down to my bra strap.

How should i curl my hair and what product should i use on it. i don't want to burn the sh!t out of it.How to make curls stay in my pin straight hair?
when its wet put Aussie aussome VOLUME styling mousse to it and scrunch it, which is like grabbing a handful of hair and squeezing i guess you could say.add more mousse when needed. finish with hair spray like aussie sprunch or aussie maximum hold

How to get my hair to hold a curl?

I have longish hair that it very thick and pin-straight and flat down to my ears where it starts forming soft waves and gets kinda bushy and frizzes at the ends. It's of medium texture, not coarse but not super soft either. It's cut into a sort of shag that's layered all different lengths all over with the shortest layer at my chin. For some reason, it doesn't hold a curl. I have tried curling irons, hot rollers, regular rollers, putting it up in little buns, curling it when it's not washed, all to no avail. When I use a curling iron I spray it with good quality hairspray first and then curl it (I've tried all different sized barrel curling irons). I get a decent curl for about two minutes and the it starts falling out until I just get sort of a weird flip at the end. In the mean time I don't touch it or anything, it just does it by itself. I've tried both rolling my hair with the curling iron and winding my hair around the barrel. Both produce the same result. I've also tried using a flat iron to curl it with worse results than the curling iron.

Same thing with any kind of rollers, even if I sleep in them.

I scrunch my hair to bring out the waves all the time but this gives more of a messy wavy look than a good curl. (By the way, for some reason with me, scrunching my hair with a diffuser makes the wave fall out rather than adding to it. Anyone know why that is?)

Anyone know why this is? Or good ways to curl stubborn hair lol :)How to get my hair to hold a curl?
after you wet your hair , let your hair dry.....get a small section of hair at a time and use a curling iron, curl your hair then use a grandma roller and put it up, do that with the hole hair ...you can get those rolling curl at sally beaty supply, but don't get the smooth one ok, that don't hold your hair every good...hope it work for you..

How do u curl just the ends of your hair?

i have a thinner curling iron and hot rollers, what can i do to jus flip out the ends, my hair is natrually pretty striaght except my ends are flying in different directions and i have layers so thats a problem and i cant jus leave my hair and i always straighten it. so if i wanna curl the ends do i have to straighten it first? and how do i curl the ends with the supplies i have??How do u curl just the ends of your hair?
Just run your flat iron down your hair like you normally do, and when you get 3/4 of the way down flip your flat iron up and then keep pulling. When your hair comes out of the flat iron it should be flipped up!How do u curl just the ends of your hair?
Depending on the width of your straightener you can use it to curl your hair, just roll it out or in when you are at the tips of your hair.
you can actually use your flat iron to curl your ends...as your straightening your hair..instead of making it pin straight flip the iron to give your hair some curl.

watch this...but just do it at the ends of your hair rather than your whole head =]
i would say to straighten it first...thats waht i do
put in your big rolls then use pantene pro-v style sculpting wax and just flip the ends

How to get lasting big curls for medium/long length hair?

I try using a curling iron, but they don't last at all. Even if I spray a bunch.

I take showers at night, and sleep with it wet. Then when I wake up it's dry.

SO would sleeping in curlers work for me? Any tips on how to make my hair curlier and last longer? Hot rollers, curls, ahhh idk how to do anything bahhaa. How to get lasting big curls for medium/long length hair?
    1. Try not to wash your hair the night before- the natural oils help keep the curls in.

    2. Try ';prepping'; your hair before you curl- apply 2-3 palmfuls of mousse to your hair, and then take a flatbrush and blowdry your hair until the mousse is dry, then clip your hair up into sectoins and start curling.

    3. When you start curling your hair, use a hot iron. If you're using a cheaper iron (conair, revlon, etc) turn it up to the highest heat setting. If you're using a PRO iron (CHI, Hot Tools, BaByliss) use the according heat settings. The Conair irons tend to lose their heat quickly, and they don't regain them giving you flat curls that fall out.

    4. When your done with each layer of hair, lightly hairspray it and move onto the next section. This will help keep your curls in.

My last tip: DONT TOUCH YOUR HAIR WHEN ITS WARM. This will cause your curls to become firzzy and fall out.

good luck! How to get lasting big curls for medium/long length hair?
In this case you're probably going to need to use hot rollers. After applying the hot rollers to your entire head and allowing them to set, lightly brush the resulting curls and spray with hair spray to hold. You can also use standard hair rollers on damp hair or fashion your hair into pin curls using bobby pins and sit under a hair dryer until the hair is dry. Use hair spray to hold your new curls.
Great trick i learned... don't wash your hair 24 hours before curling it. this allows all the natural oils to come out of your hair and allows curls to stay in longer and better. try it, ill bet it'll work!
I use hot rollers and they work fantastic!!! but if it helps after you curl your hair apply only a little bit of hairspray and don't touch your hair throughout the day because that ruins the curls!!
hot rollers and a good hair spray!

Trying to curl my hair but it keeps coming out poofy?

I don't want tinny tiny curls just medium to large. I have used the curling iron, sponge and plastic rollers on both wet and dry hair and hot rollers and even twisted my hair wet and dry and left over night but every time I take out the rollers and run the pick through it lightly to break up the curls not like with a brush) it comes out poofy. Worse than an 80's do lol. I use to get perms every couple of years but I got tired of always having curly hair but that was the only way to get my hair like I wanted it. I got a perm nearly three years ago turned really bad (same perm solution I always used but it seriously fried my head after the perm fell out after only a month) so I am done with them. And I can't get it to do anything but end up poofy. Any Suggestions on how I can do it with out the poofynessTrying to curl my hair but it keeps coming out poofy?

You could use some sponge rollers - they're very soft and make the hair pretty springy. After you take out the rollers, you could make ringlets or pull some of it back into a ponytail or with a headband. Practice it a couple times before Halloween so you have a better idea of how her hair behaves. She's got plenty, so you should be able configure some very pretty princess hair!

I don't know of any websites, but I bet you can figure this out if you practice it a few times.Whats the best way to curl/style a 5 year olds hair?

I know this sounds crazy, but this might work. My friend made her hair a little curly by braiding her hair and rolling it on to a pencil hold it there for as long as you can and let go. It might take a while though, and like I said it might not work.

How can I get my long thin, fine and very straight hair to curl?

How can I get my very long thin, fine and very straight hair to curl? I envy all women that have to use a straighter on their hair and that can get those big beautiful curls. I have long hair (middle of my back) and Absolutely want to make sure I keep the length. Any ideas?

So far I have found that a triple barrel iron will wave it and hot rollers will both hold. I get tired of the wave look (and it takes forever to do with my long hair!) and the hot rollers give me smaller tighter curls. I want beautifully curled hair like the Victoria's Secret girls! How can I get my long thin, fine and very straight hair to curl?
sry hon. thats gona be hard. cuzur hair is so straight. but you got the hot rollers rite! haha

you just needa experiment with the different sizes, cuz wat i do is i use hair spray first, after my hair is dry, then i curl my hair. to get teh shape i want. then i put in teh rollers. sleep in them. make sure they're not aligned. so this way it wont be a wavy look. instead of rolling them all in one direction. roll them the other way! it'll look edgyy. and flipped out. so it looks like those girls comin g down the run way with wind in their hair you noe?

then. you apply mousse in the morning. voila! How can I get my long thin, fine and very straight hair to curl?
Haha perfect curls take lots and lots of time, and practice.

Basically, what you need is hot rollers, a curling iron and lots and lots of HAIRSPRAY.

The fact is, your hair will be very difficult to curl. If its for an important event, I suggest you simply go to a hair salon because it will seriously take a while.

How do I curl my very long hair?

My hair is really long...almost to my butt. Its a little bit wavy naturally, but not too much. I've tried using hot rollers and foam curlers and my hair just doesn't try in time and I have to use so many. My hair turns out best when using a curling iron, but I have no time to do that in the morning. Is there any way that I can curl my hair with an iron at night and have it stay in the next day?How do I curl my very long hair?
When my hair was that long i used to braid it in 2 inch sections after a shower at night, spray some non sticky hair sprey on it and sleep with it in. Its more of a wave effect really. I suppose you could put curlers in your hair overnight. For hair that long you are going to have to make sure it is as lightweight as possible. How do I curl my very long hair?

use hair spray.. lots of it!
use a 3-barrel curler! you can get it at your local drugstore

Hahah i really dont liek Aubrey O'Day but i like her hair and how its lightly curled.

But how do you do that to one's hair? With a hot iron? Curlers? Hot rollers?

    Thanks.

How do i curl my hair like this?
thats a tough one. i'm thinking a curling iron would workHow do i curl my hair like this?
It depends on how your hair is naturally...

if its straight than use about 1 inch hot rollers than spray it with extra hold hair spray THAN finger comb in and mess with it.

if its naturally wavy than just put finishing cream in it when its wet and lightly twist your hair into softer ringlets and let it air dry like that

if its curly than straighten it than do the hot roller thing.

Your hair wont look EXACTLY like hers because your hais is most likely a different texture than hers and everything and her hair looks like its kind of falling out of a curl but hopefully you'll get the look your going for. goodluck.

p.s. for extra volume i'd suggest drying your hair with your hair upside down with a diffuser.
instead of clipping the end of your hair in the curling iron and rolling the iron up to your roots you keep the iron closed and wrap your hair around IT starting at the root. use a low heat for loose curls like hers. It looks awesome if you turn up the heat and hold each curl for longer too. It gives your hair the triple barrel look
Okay how to lightly curl your hair you use a straightener, get a bunch of hair not a lot just a little go to the top of the bunch of the hair and use the straightener to slid down in a twisty way to the bottom (make sure the straightener is hot) and you'll have a curl. ;)
    I have three suggestions:

    1. Use a curling iron

    2. Use a blow dryer (with wet or damp hair) and a circular brush. Twirl your hair, dry with blow dryer and voila

    3. When you hair is wet or damp, use your index finger and twirl your hair and blow dry for tight curls. For big curls, use more than one finger depending on how tight or big the curls are
You can do that with a straightener or a large 1 3/4 inch barrel curling iron. I have done it with both and get the same desired effect. Curl it around the iron (straight or round) while pulling down on it. Make sure the iron is loose around your hair.
Yeah can maybe curl it with a straighter and then comb it out a bit.

I usually do that and it comes out somewhat like that.

Just get your straightner, turn it and pull down. It'll curl so just brush it down. =]]
take a thick curling iron and hold it facing down. keep the iron closed, dont open the flap. take your hair and wrap it around from your roots to your ends holing the ends with your fingers. pull it slightly and vouala!!

so how long should i let them heat for?

    btw: they are conair curlers.

thankss.Does anyone use hot rollers? 10 points (:?
i let mine heat up for about 10-20 minutes.

closer to 20 though, depends on how much time i have.

but my set is OLD. like, verrrryyy old.

the hotter you let them get, the better the curl you will have.

Best way to curl long, straight, thick hair??

I am in a play, Little Women, and need to have medium sized curls. My hair is long, straight, and THICK. My hair stylist does it beautifully with hot rollers, but I want to figure out how to curl it on my own (can't afford to go to her every night of the show!). Any suggestions on best brand, size of hot rollers, or other techniques I could use?Best way to curl long, straight, thick hair??
lots of caruso curlers. those things are AMAZING. They curl with steam rather than heat, so there's no damage done to your hair. Since you have Thick hair, that's long you'll have to purchase extra rollers so that you can do more sections. you can't put too much hair on a roller or you wont get as good of an effect.

The curl will last in your hair until you get it wet again. even without styling products. (Though it doesn't hurt to spray a light mist of Paul mitchell on them) there are multiple sizes for different types of curl, or if you just want to add volume or wave.

they really are great. i bought one when i was a teenager, and i STILL use it today. (which lets just say, has been more than 5 years) =o%26gt; it works on ALL types of hair. But i have long hair, and its always worked on mine.

just look at the multiple reviews here

How can i curl/wave my hair?

i know how to curl my hair with a curling iron and hot rollers but this hair style is wavy. how would i get my hair like this?

    1)http://www.imdb.com/gallery/ss/1127884/Cyrus_2.JPG.html?seq=3How can i curl/wave my hair?
while your hair is wet, braid it from the middle of your head down:

1.) if yor hair gets too curly with this, then let it down for 30 to

40 minutes before getting ready to leave. this will give it

time to loosen and look wavy instead of curly.

2.) but if your hair is straight, you may want to give it a couple

of hours (overnight is better) to get curly before getting

ready.this will ensure it is done right. How can i curl/wave my hair?
it looks like the produce of braids, when you let your hair dry while its braided, but you could try curling it, like ringlet style and combing it out a little with your fingers,
You take a straightning iron and kind of twirl it vertically. Its hard explain and kind of hard to do but it looks cute!
i wear my hair like this...it depends on your time. if you have a long time, do this: well, i straighten my hair first, to smooth it. then, i take a 1/4'; curling iron, curl the ends, and i know this sounds kinda weird, but put styling wax at the bottom and give the bottom tips you curled a light scrunch.

if you dont have alot of time, take sea salt and water, put it in a spray bottle and then spray and scrunch, and put in messy buns.

    N THERE U GO!How do I curl my hair?!?! Easy 10 Points!!!?
Ok we have the same problem!

    1. Get a hot tools proffesional spring curling iron. For size I reccommend eiether 1.5 or 1' since we have thick hair You can get it at Ulta or any hair store.

    2. Use Fantasia Liquid Mousse, the only place I can get it is at Sally Beauty supply. It works amazing considering my hair doesnt hold curls very well

    3. Dont straighten your hair before or put on leave in lotions or conditioners unless your straightening it, it will just make you hair slick which will make your hair hard to curl. Just blow dry it and spray on a heat protectant.

    4. Look at this girls tutorials theyre amazing and she uses the same materials i use!

    Good Luck:)
You and me have similar hair types, so I totally understand what you are going through!

It depends on what kind of curls you want. If you want ones like this http://www.topnews.in/files/Taylor-Swift鈥?/a> You should use a spiral curling iron, I recommend one by Conair. http://www.conair-store.com/product_deta鈥?/a>

If you want curls like this: http://www.hairspotlight.com/wp-content/鈥?/a> I suggest big rollers/ a big curling iron.

    Hope that helps! :)
hot rollers are way better than a curling iron.

curling irons dont work well on my hair either, and hot rollers are way easy to use instead of standing there for an hour with a hot think next to your head.

get the rollers, i promise you will love them.
Curling iron but before you do it you need to wash your hair first. And look on youtube for tutorials
    curling iron!

How do I curl human hair extensions?

I just got micro braids with human hair. Like 21.00 a pack. The pack say they can be hot curled. Well when I tried to curl, the curlers didn't curl not even a bit. So, how do I get them to curl without buying rollers? How do I curl human hair extensions?
You could dip the hair in hot water and then put rollers at the end of it.

I had the same problem with trying to curl human hair. This happened on accident where I thought my hair was all the way dry and I went and curled it and heard some sizzling lol.Nothing happened to the hair,It actually straightened better because my hair was a little damp. How do I curl human hair extensions?
The only way I can EVER get my extensions to curl is by using my flat iron. If the outside of your iron is rounded, its a perfect curling iron. Always start in the middle (or top) of your hair though, not the bottom. It will fry the ends. Just clamp and twist and pull down slowly while wrapping the hair around the iron.

It took me a LOT of practice but it works so much better and lasts longer than any other method I've tried so far.

  • How to curl hair without heat?

And you can guarantee me if I do it prperly it won't look like crap.

If you don't know then how about a way of doing it with a hair dryer?

I don't have hot rollers, curlers or a curling iron..and my flat iron is crappy.

:)How to curl hair without heat?
take a towel and cut it into long strips ( you need a lot)

then take about an inch of hair and tie on strip at the end and roll it up and tie at the top

do this to your whole head

(make sure hair is damp and wear to bed and take out in the morning)How to curl hair without heat?
there isnt a way just go buy curlers or a curling iron
After you get out of the shower, detangle your hair. Then, spray hairspray all over your wet curls.

    Ta-da! :D Curly/wavy hair :D
you can get any kind of hair gel or something and scrunch your hair...ha not sure if thats the way you want it though...
take a brush and wrap it around a strand of hair. as you do that hold the hair drier on that spot and hold it till its dry completely. then when your done, hair spray it. it should turn out good=]
wet your hair get a thin cylindrical brush then use hair spray then blow dry it but don't use a flat iron lol =)
I have soft curlers that I put in my hair before I go to bed (damp hair) and it looks great in the morning =]
    buy a curling iron?

or if your hair has a natural curl, when you get out of the shower brush your hair and part it, then with gel (yes, gel but not too much or it wll be gross) mix it on your hands and put the gel in the bottom of your hair, you might find it easier by putting your head upside down. then when its all mixed in put your head back up and brush your fingers through it once, and ';scrunch'; it (squeeze your hair together and lift the curls up closer to your head)

dont touch it too much or it will frizz

then when its dry you can straighten your bangs or something :]

    i sure hope i helped ;]
You should go to walgreens and just get some rollers.

Right after you get out of the shower let your hair air dry for a couple of minutes then, put the rollers in. Sleep with them in and you will have natural looking curls in the morning!

You can also scrunch it. :)

Get your hair wet but not completley wet.

Then, put Tresemme mousse, FX curl defrizzer and deactivater, and Sunsilk beach waves spray throughout your hair. :)

When it all dries you'll have pretty perfectly curly hair.

get a strand of hair, hair spary it, wrap it around a pencil. brush it out for waves. dont brush for curlier.
