How can i acheive this hairstyle? (short tight curls in long shoulder length hair)need advice. :( x?

Hiya.i really want curls like the women in the picture and i've been trying to figure out how to do it for quite a while now .. %26amp;%26amp; so was wondering if a 1/2 inch (13mm) barrel ceramic curling tong would do the job. if not, what size should the barrel be? (i am not comfortable with hot rollers, so i prefer to use curling tongs) So please try to tell me what the suitable barrel size is and what heat setting it needs to be in to acheive the best possible result.

%26amp;%26amp; ii was also wondering .. because i have side swept bangs (a side fringe) would it be a good idea to curl the back of my hair and straighten my fringe? ( i have a round face .. so will it suit my face structure? or will it just make my chubby face stand out too much and make it too noticable?)

Thanks Dudes.

PS: Any of you know what hair looks like when curled with a 13mm (half inch) barrell curling tong? pictures would be REALLY helpful. How can i acheive this hairstyle? (short tight curls in long shoulder length hair)need advice. :( x?
that sounds like the right size barrel, you might even be able to get away with something slightly larger. when you curl your hair, wrap it around the barrel in a spiral, but hold curling tongs vertically. as far as face shape, i wouldn't say straightening would make ur face look big, but that contrast almost always adds to the look.
