What is the best way to get big, curly hair?

I am on the dance team at my school and for every performance our hair has to be ';big'; and ';sexy';. We discussed all the possibilities of how to achieve this look (hot rollers, curling iron, curling iron and sponge rollers, etc.) but I was wondering what worked for other people?

I have pretty thick hair that I curl pretty often using a 1'; curling iron, but I usually get a loose curl that turns into more of a tousle as the day progresses. I need to find a way to have my hair be curly, big, and sexy and be able to last 8 hours in extreme heat/ cold during football and basketball games.

Someone suggested that I use a curling iron the night before and sleep with my curls in sponge rollers. Any other ideas? Someone please help! What is the best way to get big, curly hair?
You should try scrunching your hair. Its extremely easy and only takes 30 minutes. First, take a shower. I use Garnier Fructis Moisture Works Shampoo and Conditioner, but you can use whatever you want. Let your hair air-dry for two minutes after getting out of the shower. Then apply a good curling mousse, cream-gel (or shaping milk), and scrunching gel. I suggest Garnier Fructis, TRESemme, or Herbal Essences. Comb all the products through your hair with your fingers. Then, grab a handful of hair and scrunch. Do this all over your head until all the product is dissolved. Then, spritz a glossing spray, such as Garnier Fructis Brilliantine Shine Glossing Spray, all over your hair to reduce frizz and add shine. Let your hair air-dry for about 20 minutes, and you should come out with beautiful frizz-free curls that last all day. The products I use are Garnier Fructis Curl Scrunch Gel, Garnier Fructis Curl Construct Mousse, and TRESemme Touchable Curls Shaping Milk. I hope I helped :-)
